Moonlight
At the bus stop outside my house, on the top of the hill, the night sky brought about an unusual feeling of serenity. Iridescent diamonds speckled the velvet expanse while a continual contest of light and shadow was played out on the clouds. I was embraced by the warm illumination from the full moon as the cool sea breeze caressed the contours of my body. The smell of the sea, under the moonlight made me feel... different.
Today has been quite good for me. Despite the serious sleep deficiency from cramming for the Biochemistry exam today, I managed to get up and prepare for Uni without too much difficulty. My motor skills were slightly... delayed at the start but it resumed functioning normally after a while. First lesson for the day was a maths lecture for 2 hours. It ended 10 minutes early so I seized the opportunity to go to the library to study. The 3rd floor of the library had just been renovated. It looks really good now. I would have camwhored a bit but I didn't have the time or the equipment. I studied for the next 2 hours, doing last minute cramming before heading for the exam venue at the Biomedical theatres. The exam went pretty well. I completed the exam within 20 minutes. There were a lot of details in the lecture notes but the exam questions were really easy. There were 12 MCQs, 6 short answers and 1 essay. The essay asked for a discussion of chemiosmosis theory and how it relates to the coupling of ATP synthesis and oxidative phosphorylation. After the exam, I had a physiology tutorial. Some of us decided to ditch our designated tutorial group and join our other friend's. When we got there, I saw this pretty hot guy. (He's a student, does physiology and biochemistry with me. Very good looking but rumoured to be as obtuse as he is good looking. Caucasian, tall, good body, good facial features.) Anyways, the tutor for this tutorial was this daggy old lady. 2 minutes into the lecture, my friend and I decided to leave and go to our old tutorial group. We made it back in time. We had a new tutor as well. She was a doctor that assisted us in some of our physio labs. Quite young, pretty, slim, with skin as clear as Miranda Otto. Today's tutorial was on the cardiovascular system. I didn't revise any of the lectures before the tutorial but I did manage to get some of the questions correct.
I popped off to the city after tutorial to meet up with my sister. She had gone to get her nails done and when I got there, we just walked around for a bit. We went to Myers to test out their perfume. I like the new Guerlain Homme but I decided not to buy it yet as it would have been on impulse if I did anyways. The top note was a gentle fusion of lime and mint, creating a slightly herbaceous opening. After a few moments, the middle notes surfaced, revealing bergamot, green tea & pelargonium. The middle notes were really refreshing and not stinging. The scent progressed to mellow down with cedar and vetiver while retaining the cool mint through the entire duration which blended well to create a soft, sweet, cool note. Guerlain Homme is a clean fragrance, well balanced and sophisticated. It's classy and modern. The more I think about it, the more tempted I am to get it.
On the note of perfumes, I was complimented on my signature scent, YSL L'Homme today. It's neither overpoweringly musky nor sickeningly cloying but a perfect balance, like yin and yang (possibly androgynous?).
It has been a pretty good day overall but I will endeavour to get some work done this weekend!
Lurbs yew long time,
Jo(n)
(Apologies for the weird paragraph up the top, I was inspired momentarily and started churning out literary nonsense. If my high school english teacher read that, she would probably be spewing blood from the overused clichés.)

Which to pick?
With too many choices, things get complicated. It’s such a bitch to pick really… University time table for Semester 1 2009 is really screwed up, I will really need to get that sorted out soon… As for my haircut, I’ve found a few pictures of what I think I might like to try. Will get the hair stylist to give me his best opinion.
They’re all medium – long in hair length. So yea, will have to see if my current hair length will be suffice and all those other nitty-gritty factors.
Tonight’s date with A might be cancelled. He has some problems with a $500,000 deal caused by one of the staff members so he has to go do some damage control. I might see him, I might not. As long as I’m still in the city and he’s available. Today is sorta my “last night of freedom” before a massive cramming session for this Summer term’s exams. I will be sitting for my exams prior to the scheduled date so yea… it’s a real bitch.
Anyways, I’m feeling really tired now. Might go get some rest before I go for my haircut.
Lurbs yew long time,

Hello 2009!
Hello everyone,
I hope you're all looking forward to the new year. Sadly, I'm not feeling that enthusiastic about it. According to the economic forecast, the only thing worth looking forward to is the increase in the Aussie dollar.
Today, my eldest sister went back to London. I was planning to go to the city early in the morning to buy some stuff from L'Occitane since they're having a sale but I wanted to sleep more. I ended up getting up at 11 45 hrs. I took my time to get ready but it was really hot today. We left for the airport at 1400 hrs. I gave Prissy a hug. That would be the last I'd see of her for a while. Dad and Mum dropped me off at Kingsford and I caught the bus to the city. It was pretty crowded in the city but damn there were hotties all over the place! Really! WOW! I went to L'Occitane only to be rudely surprised that they didn't get word from head office about the sale. I pretty much went there for nothing then. They ran out of the shampoo and conditioner I wanted to get anyways. The hair products from L'Occitane is really good! Made my hair feel... orgasmic! :D I walked around the city for a while and met up with Susan at the Body Shop. She was the manager today at the George St branch. It was good to see her again after a long while. We chatted for quite a bit. I went home at 1630.
I basically bummed around at home and chatted on MSN with all the other lovely bloggers. You guys are wonderful~ Lurbs yew all long long long time. I got to know David today through Kevin. Thanks for expanding my circle of friends : ) I convinced the lovely bloggers to send me new year smses. Thanks Willy, Yanny, David and Kevin!
At the moment, it's 4 mins till 2009. I'm on my laptop in front of the television outside. It's so warm. I really wish I was at Darling Harbour watching the fireworks. They had something called the "Creation Thunder" which was prelude fireworks till the big 5 million dollar BOOM at the stroke of midnight. They basically recreated a lightning storm using fireworks. It looks spectacular even on tv, how much more would that be live! They had a recap of the events that happened in 2008. International, Political, Entertainment and all that. The most memoriable of which is the apology given by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to the Australian Stolen Generation.

The Snowie Files
Yaho lovelies!
Sorry I haven’t been blogging for a bit. It’s been pretty hectic. My wonderful oldest sister from England came over for a visit. I haven’t seen her for 4 years. It’s really good to see her again. She arrived on Thursday. By the time I had ended classes for the day, my parents had already picked her up and came to pick me up as well. The car was pretty full with my parents and my sisters. I was dressed like a “fashionista” according to my sister. I had a long sleeve white round neck T-shirt from Esprit and my fur jacket with my sexy hand stitched black leather shoes. (Sorry for being so shameless, actually, I'm not that sorry, tough bickies, eat that you fashion perpetrators!) It was great to see her again. She got my Dolce & Gabbana’s “The One”. It smells pretty good. I’ll be alternating between that and my signature scent Yves Saint Laurent’s “L’Homme”.
On Friday – 12/12/2008, I had classes as usual. it was chemistry which ended at 1300 hrs. I bought my sister 2 UNSW hoodie sweatshirts since she wanted them. Merry X’mas dearest sister! They had very nice signet rings there. Looks similar to the family’s coat of arms. Anyways, we had family friends from Singapore coming over to stay for a bit. The dad was actually from Civil Defence as well (that was where I was posted to for National Service). He was head of 4th Division’s Public Affairs Branch (P.A.B.). I was sent to 1st Division’s P.A.B. which was alot better since their’s was located in some secluded region of Singapore. Mine was the closest to town. Orchard Road and all the fun places came under our jurisdiction. Anyways, they were here on Friday. They had 3 kids – Grace, Joy and John. They were all still kids but seemed quite old for their age. I remember Grace and Joy from when I was younger. I used to take care of them. It was really fun. The two of them have blossomed from feisty little munchkins to genteel young girls. John on the other hand was quite an overtly energetic, outspoken brat. He was “bugging” me in my room (I tried to escape to my room but he barged in) but I had my geisha smile on to hide my exasperation. And after a while he said I was very gay. I was shocked that this little kid knew what gay meant but it was the PG version of it. According to him, gays are boys that dress like girls. I had my ear stud on that time. It took all my patience to keep a smile on and continue to be somewhat “sociable”. After a while, he said I turned my head like a girl. I was like… what the !@#$… (in my head, I didn’t say it out loud)
“How does a guy turn his head then?” I asked.
He replied “They don’t turn their head that fast.”
I tried to turn my head very slowly now. In my head I envisaged myself as one of those psychotic serial killers.
“Without a smile” he added.
My mask just dissolved and I gave him one of my toned down death stares. That managed to shut him up for a bit. But OMG, I was almost ready to slice open the little imp with a butter knife and sacrifice his entrails to the gods of old.
He went to my sister’s room and announced that I was “very gay” to them. I could hear my sisters cracking up in the other room and Grace and Joy telling John off for being so rude.
On Saturday – 13/12/2008, I went to to church for a short meeting and then to the city to meet up with Klement and Derrick. They were going to get their hair cut at this Korean hair salon. I sat on the sofa facing the shopfront so I could see the people walking past. There were sooooo many hotties out today. I mean, WOW! Met up with Jeff and the 4 of us went to Din Tai Fung at World Square for lunch. I love that place!
The lights were swaying in the pseudo wind
Close up of the soup spoons
The wind outside was pretty strong. I felt like I was going to be blown away.
We went around the city after lunch. Derrick wanted to buy some perfume so we went to David Jones and Myers to go have a sniff at the good ones. I recommended quite a few good ones to him. He ended up buying the Hugo Boss #6 Limited Edition and Giorgio Armani Code. All 4 of us were thoroughly doused with a plethora of perfume by the time we were done. I did most of the spraying on people. There are usually exhibitions and buskers at the broad walk outside Myers. I managed to take a picture of some dude painting a pretty nice picture.
I came home after that. I was pretty tired but I managed to do some camwhoring during lunch and when I got home.
John was a quite a terror. He traumatised poor Snowie really badly. He used my Dad’s remote control Sherman Tank to chase Snowie around the house. Usually when Dad does it, Snowie barks his furry little head off but this time Snowie was absolutely silent. He just sat in between Mum’s feet with his tail in between his legs. I could tell he was absolutely terrified. After a while the parents told him off. He proceeded to come bug me with the tank instead. I was trying to work on my assignment. Gosh, I’m somewhat happy I won’t be able to have kids.
On Sunday – 14/12/2008, we went to church as usual. Came back home and we had a barbecue. It was really warm outside. Our guests would be leaving today. We had a pretty good lunch and wonderful dessert to wrap up lunch. There was a long chat session while the girls went to take a nap. John took a “pretend” nap. He was back within 5 mins. After much begging and annoying his Dad, John was allowed to take Snowie for a walk around the neighbourhood. My Dad went with John since he was the official “dog walker”. That was the only reason why John’s dad allowed him to go anyways. They left for their hotel at 1730 hrs and at 1845, I had to go for the evening service with Dad and Mum because we were going to pick up Angeline after that. She’s a friend from Uni that had to find a temporary place to put up till February when her new place will be done. If she didn’t come stay with us, she’d be sharing a room with 5 other people – 3 guys and 2 girls. It worked out pretty well also as we’d be going away to the Gold Coast next week and couldn’t find anyone to take care of Snowie.
Snowie was absolutely wasted from John the Terrible. He was under my sister’s duvet. He didn’t bother moving at all. Poor Snowie! Perfect opportunity to photograph Snowie! >=)
No energy to escape the evil wraps of the duvet!
He didn’t even bother licking me when I tried to kiss him! :( Where’s the loovveeee gone!?!?
Usually when I attempt to kiss him, he’d try to eat/lick my lips. This time he just laid there doing nothing.
Sorry for the rather long post, now we come to the last section…
Monday – 15/12/2008
Had to get up early because Priscilla (my oldest sister) had to go to the Department of Immigration to get her Australian PR status back. It wasn’t possible to get it done on the spot because she didn’t fulfil the requirement which is to be in Australia for 2 years out of the past 5 years. She did get some forms to fill in and the lady that served us was really helpful. She tried her best to provide us with all the information we’d need, etc. So we were done by 0930 hrs. We walked from Railway Square towards the central city. First stop was Starbucks for a nice pick-me-up drink. We continued walking towards QVB and The Galleries Victoria.
The Queen Victoria Building (QVB) and some bald dude
We fluttered from store to store till 1130 hrs when I had an appointment at Stairway to Beauty at Skygardens. The girls went to get their nails done. We were finished by 1245 hrs and went to do more shopping. We headed for David Jones. Pris wanted to go look at the Giorgio Armani makeup so I brought her to the woman’s section. After a while of looking around their range of makeup, there was a really fair lady that took a seat in front of the makeup mirror and was attended to by this makeup artist with a heavy French accent. She looked really familiar and I couldn’t help but stare for a bit. She smiled slightly at me as I tried to recall where I remembered seeing her. It suddenly hit me like a brick wall. That was Miranda Otto! She was the actress that played Eowyn from Lord of the Rings and one of the characters from Cashmere Mafia. OMG OMG OMG!~! Celebrity alert!! Of course I didn’t go hound her but I tried to steal glances at her whenever I could. Oh and there were hot guys there too, sadly, shopping with their girlfriends. Pris ended up buying a really good concealer and lipstick. We met up with Angeline and went for lunch at Sky Phoenix. We had yum cha there. It was pretty cheap for the 4 of us. I burnt the top of my mouth from a searing hot siew mai. It’s not good to “fi di” when you’re eating dim sums straight out of the steamer. It was pretty bad. Almost cried from it. Anyways, we walked around a bit more and then went to SDS. The girls were shopping for swim wear and havainas while I just looked around for hot guys. The guys in there weren’t really my type. We caught the bus home after that. I fell asleep on the bus. Quite tired today. When I got home I had to finish up my essay which is due tomorrow. Total gheyness…
My phone always makes me yellow :(
Hmmm why am I yellow from the phone?
Speechless… Miranda Otto had really clear fair skin!
Anyways, that’s all for today. Sorry for making the post so long. Please remind me to update my blog regularly so I don’t have to torture myself with such a long post :)

The Perfect Manbag
Hi dearies,
Sorry I haven’t been updating my blog.I shall attempt to bring you up to date on the trivial events which comprise of my life. Right now, I’m typing with one hand while eating gummy bears and smelling like Korean BBQ coz that’s what I had for dinner tonight. Current song playing is Jason Miraz – I’m Yours. Anyways, with all the minor details aside, let’s jump back to
Tuesday – 09/12/2008
I had a biology test today! Ommmggggg!! I was freaking out, trying to memories the cell cycle stuff, functions of cell parts, cell structures, macromolecules, etc etc etc. We had a lecture first in the morning. It was pretty good because the lecture was a more detailed version of the introductory stuff covered in the first few lectures which happened to be covered in the test. We covered DNA in this lecture. It was really quite interesting. The 3 components of DNA – pentose sugars, phosphate group and nitrogenous base. We got to see how the DNA forms and ends up as a chromosome. It’s really quite fun. After the 1 hr lecture, we had the test before we started the bio lab proper. We had to do some staining first though because that would roughly take an hour to wait for the stain to set in.The bio test wasn’t too bad really. There was the theory of endosymbiosis and scientific evidence to support it as a question. I’m pretty confident about that one. Altogether, this test is worth 5.5% of my course mark. We did some really nice staining today. I managed to get a nice picture of 1. It’s a negative staining of Rhodospirillium with 4% nigrosine.
I really this that it’ll make an excellent wallpaper for me room. Oh well, I’m not about to coat the walls of my room with bacteria and nigrosine.
After lab, we had an hour break before the final lecture. It was about DNA replication in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. We also covered the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). It sounds like a really fun procedure. We’ll eventually be doing that in the lab. Yaaaay!
Anyways, I got back home and had to start cracking on my tutorial for Chemistry. But I got distracted by Snowie. He wanted to play. I ended up trying to camwhore with the blur pup.
Walkie please?
Walkie after this picture?
Now can we go walkie?
In the end, we didn’t go walkie. I had to start on the crappy chem tutorial. It was sooooo long. I finally gave up at Question 5 at 0125 hrs. It really didn’t help that I was constantly distracted by looking for bags online. I looked at the wonderful bags at Louis Vuitton and then at a website advertising for replicas and played “spot the difference.” It was really quite fun. I’m way better at this than chemistry sadly. I saw this really nice Hugo Boss Bag on eBay. It was in pretty good condition and selling for $400 opposed to the supposed $600 they said it costs in the store. I think it would costs more. Can’t remember but I’ve seen that bag at the Hugo Boss stores.
Even though it’s really nice, I still love the bags from Bally. Let me introduce to you Osar. He’s hot as hell. Too bad he’s last last season’s bag and can’t be found here anymore :( I really should have bought him when he was going for $1500 here. He used to cost $2100!
Calf leather and fabric. Love this to bits!
So that was it for Tuesday. Had to go to sleep because I was starting to look like a crap-panda.
Wednesday – 10/12/2008
I got up slightly later than usual but it wasn’t that bad. I thought class started at 0900 but it started at 1000 hrs so I ended up getting to university earlier than required. I went to the Dalton lab to get my pre-lab stuff done for the entire semester. Yay! That’s a huge burden gone. First chemistry lecture for today was so depressing. I tried my hardest to keep awake but I ended up falling asleep half way. I woke up close to the end and was wide awake for that but my mind had wandered miles away by the time lecture ended. First to bags, then to hot guys. I’m such a slut I think it’s going to cause me to fail. We had a 30 min break before a 2 hr tutorial and lecture. Klement and I went down to the Quad. I had sandwiches. They were yum.
The stuff covered in today’s tutorial was totally unexpected. I thought we’d be rushing as if hell’s hounds were snapping wildly at our ankles. We just went through resonance structures from the previous tutorial and some very minor question from tutorial 5. After tutorial, the lecture pretty much followed suit with the previous lecture except I skipped the falling asleep part and went straight to spacing out. We ended lectures early today but we had a 3 hr chemistry lab at 1400 hrs.
Evelyn forgot to bring closed shoes today but thankfully Klement stays on campus and lent her a pair of his size 8 runners. Haha, she was so relieved. We were all kinda late because of that. My lab demonstrator, Norma, had already marked me absent but she amended it because she was a nice but seriously naggy granny. The cute guy diagonally beside me was pretty fast with his work today. I asked him some work-related questions but he seemed to be quite … distant… Oh well…
I finally finished up the lab work at 1730 hrs. We were supposed to meet for dinner at Tabitha’s place across the university at 1830 so I spent that time doing the lab report in the deserted Dalton computer labs. It started raining and was really windy. I was rather skimpily clad, with respect to such weather conditions of course. My petite Esprit camo-umbrella put up an excellent fight against the raging elements. Go little brolly, fight on!
I got to their place rather damp. We hopped into Derrick’s car and drove to the city for dinner. The 5 of us were in this little car. It was quite exhilarating though, to drive through the city. The traffic was absolutely revolting. I kept egging Derrick to run over the fat old people that attempted to cross the road callously. The obviously had a death wish, might as well grant it since tis the season of giving. I’m rather vicious today. Maybe it’s because I got back my chemistry test marks and it was horrible. Ugh… So disappointing. 15/30. A few careless mistakes here and there but it was the last question which I didn’t have time to complete that really pulled down everything. Gheyness… I want the computer assignments back! Thankfully, only the best 5 out of the 6 tests scores will be used. But heck, this is #1 and it’s already so shitty. This is a rather precarious situation!
So we got to the Korean BBQ place after stumbling onto an empty parking lot. It wasn’t drizzling, but more of misting. It felt kinda nice. We ordered 1 meat platter and 1 meat-seafood combination platter.
My cutlery and stuff
The food just arrived! Nobody moves until I’ve taken a picture!
The meat-seafood combination platter
Large strip of beef sizzling on the BBQ
Leather bound menu :)
It was really good dinner. I’m happy with it, but I wasn’t full. It’s Tabitha’s farewell dinner tonight as she’d be leaving for Singapore on Friday. We ended dinner at 2100 hrs. The rest of the group went to KTV but I decided to come home instead as I was really quite pooped out from the day’s disappointments and the hectic work. There were quite a number of hot guys out in the city tonight. There were one or two at the restaurant :D
Well, I can’t think of anything else to write about so that’s all for today.
Lurbs yew long time,
Jo(n)
(PS: Oh, if anyone sees Osar, please let me know A.S.A.P! Thankies muchly!)

The Misery
Let me try to recap what excitement have been going on since my last post... There was the trip to the beach with the Singaporean people, well, most of them anyways. Georgina, Tabitha, Clyde, Sean, Derrick, Jeffrey and myself went to Long Bay Beach near my place. It was pretty fun. Starting from Clyde and Sean, one by one they were dragged off into the watery depths of the bay. I was fortunately spared because I was holding the camera. Even though it's widely known that I'm a camwhore, I didn't take "self-portrait" pictures. I was taking alot of pictures of everyone frolicking in the sun. I took caution to remain in the shade most of the time since I'm not particularly interested in developing melanoma. Kudos to the Aussie sun! After a major sun-burning session for the guys frolicking in the water, we adjorned to my place to finish up the food. It was good to have everyone over but they left a bit of a mess. Dear Snowie was over-excited by the sudden onslaught of attention and did not hesitate to wee on Sean. I was pleased that Snowie had developed excellent intuition on which person to wee on. Despite the gratuitous golden shower Sean receive, he was undeterred and continued to exude annoyance to everyone's displeasure. Well, they left before 1700 and I cleaned up after them. That's it for that day.
I had a barbecue at my place the other day, on Saturday I think it was. It was good. Dad invited his ex-students over and I invited my Uni mates which comprised mainly of the Singapore group anyways. Georgina, Angelina, Natalie, Priscilla, Derrick 1, Derrick 2, Jeffrey, Roy, Sean, Syafiq and Wayne came. We had a pretty good time. After dinner, most of them played cards while Georgina was getting abused in Soul Calibur 3 on my PS2. She makes the most hilarious expressions and noises when she plays. Her body bends to the side as she frantically mashes on the buttons, occasionally squealing "you idiot!" and "die die die!". Much to our entertainment, we all took turns wiping the floor with her. The climax of the battle royale was when she used Sopithia against Seung-Mina controlled by Natalie (this was Natalie's first go) and was owned by Natalie. We were all cheering for Natalie to the rhythm of her horizontal attack blitz from which Georgina was disastrously caught in. It was spectacular! They soon left after that eventful battle. If only we had a video of Georgina playing, we could relive the moment in our dullest moments.
On Sunday after church, I went to Kingsford to meet at Sean's place as he was flying off to Singapore for a holiday as well as to celebrate Jeffrey's birthday. Even though I had missed out of the main celebrations which was Georgina's initial brithday prank backfiring on herself, there was video footage kindly provided by Angeline. Georgina had planned to have a pail of water projected from the 3rd floor balcony onto the unsuspecting blindfolded Jeffrey who was waiting below. It was by chance, or divine intervention or retribution if you will, that Georgina was thoroughly soaked whilst Jeffrey, still blindfolded and none the wiser, escaped unscathed. After a few rounds of Soul Calibur 4 on Sean's PS3 and HD wide screen plasma TV, all of us walked down to the main road with his Prada bag almost splitting at the seams due to an overload of Gucci shoes and his ginormous clam shell Samsonite suitcase with contents that costs a king's ransom. We were at the hotel en route to the main road when Sean realised that he had left his iphone at home and rushed back to get it. Meanwhile, his suitcase was about to precariously roll off the sidewalk and into oncoming traffic if not for my slut-trained lightning reflexes. A taxi had pulled into the hotel, dropping off some elderly ladies and we managed to persuade the driver to wait while Sean swaggered down the street. It took 4 strong army-trained guys to load his suitcase into the boot. We all wondered how he'd be able to extricate his coffin of a suitcase from the boot one he reached the airport. Anyways, it was a bitter-sweet farewell since he was my only bitching buddy. We proceeded for Jeffrey's birthday lunch at a pretty good Indonesian restaurant. Despite it's dodgy architecture, it served pretty good food. We were all pretty pooped out after today's escapades and dispersed to return home. That's it for Sunday.
I was stuck at home on Monday. It was rather miserable. The most entertaining event of the day was the emoticon war with Kevin. I don't remember how it started but it just went on and on for quite a while. Couldn't really decide who won since there weren't any rules of engagement established. Ah, dear Kevin, what would I ever do on those boredom ranked days without you.
I went for a haircut on Tuesday. It's pretty much the same style. I was wearing my green contacts again today. I met up with Gary who was an artographer (freelance photographer) for coffee after my haircut. He's a nice guy, showed me around his studio and his cats. He has taken some really nice pictures of Sydney and stuff. He taught me a bit about photography as well. We walked by the Greater Union movie theatres on the way to his studio. The streets were prepared to be cordoned off and the workers were busy setting up tents and planning to unroll the prestigious red carpets for tonight's opening of "Australia" starring the ever beautiful Nicole Kidman and the beef cake Hugh Jackman and directed by Baz Luhrmann. It looks spectacular and fully embodies the Australian spirit. I left for home at around 1430 hrs. The bus ride home was tiring and stuffy. I think the air-conditioning wasn't working at the back end of the bus. There was a particularly hunky guy on the bus that was sitting behind me. I managed to take a peek at him when I abruptly awoke from my nap when I had unglamourously rammed my head into the window when the bus jerked. I hoped I didn't snore because that would have been appalling. When I got back home, Bee Bee was all dressed up for her formal tonight. She had caked on the eyeshadow till she looked like a panda that got punched in the eyes. I helped her remove some of it till it was a proper pair of "smokey eyes". We ended up camwhoring for a bit. Snowie came in to join the fun. That's basically all the interesting bits that have happened so far.
That's all for now. Toodles!
Lurbs yew long time,
Jo

So exams are over, what's next?
Exams haven't officially ended yet. I still have a tiny one on the 11th Nov for Plant chemistry - Plants & People : Murder, Magic, Medicine. It's a pretty interesting course. We did plants and fungi that were used for poisons, and had psychoactive or medicinal purposes. Went to the Royal Botanic Gardens for a field trip. (20% of the course mark just for attendance! I love this course!) Oh and the finals for this is an open book exam so I've gone into the holiday mood straight after Biology on the 4th Nov. Actually, I think I was already holiday-ing before that, hence the denial + bewilderment + flummox. It was awesome, I should have been panicking like a little girl but yea, it was as if I was high on something.
Anywhos, moving on, yesterday (05/11/08), I went to the City to hang with a dear friend, S. Oh, there was this HOOOOOT guy on the bus! Good thing i was wearing my sunnies otherwise it'd be so obvious I was checking him out. But then again, he was sitting diagonally in front of me so he'd have to turn around to notice me. We met at Max Brenner at David Jones and headed for lunch at Din Tai Fung. It's a really good place. I miss the one in Singapore though. I had the braised beef noodles and 9 pieces of the 小笼包. S just ate entrées because she was afraid of getting fat. But she did like it as well though. I swear, she eats like a rabbit. Everything on her plate were just plants.
After lunch we walked around World Square window shopping for jeans. G-Star Raw had some nice ones but i felt they were too high up. Went to Marketcity and found that their G-Star jeans were about $30 - $40 cheaper. Didn't buy it though. Tempting, but this was a reconnaissance mission.
We made our way up to Skygardens, to the Tea Centre. Another one of my favourite places. They have an exquisite range of teas from English to New Guinean, black, white, green, etc, etc. So far, I've tried their Silver Needles and Snow Dragon tea so I tried their Buddha Tears this time. Silver Needles was particularly delightful. The taste was light and delicate and left a sweet aftertaste. It would have cost $100/50g for the Silver needles tea as it is only picked on two days in the entire year. The good thing about the tea centre is that they allow you to try their teas regardless of the price when you buy it as a pot. They were out of the premium silver needles so i tried the second best one which would have cost $35/100g. When you look at the tea in the light, you can really see silver needles dancing in your cup! As for the snow dragon, "Spiral white tips dance around the pot for a beautiful mild tea experience". It was a nice tea but I would have preferred to see the spiralling white tips in a glass pot instead of the enclosed metal one they served the tea in. Buddha tears were also called Jasmine Downy Pearls. I really liked this one as well. They are hand-rolled balls which unfurl to present a full, exquisite flavour. I didn't get to see any unfurling at all since it was again, in the metal pot.
We headed back to David Jones after a good hour of talking and tea indulging. S went to get her standard fruit salad and we walked around more looking at bags. I have a thing for Bally bags. I will buy one someday! We headed home after that. The bus took ages to arrive. When I got home, I went on trevvy and fridae and saw Ekkonen's kiss on trevvy. Very nice of you to return the kisses. I have a tendency of sending those daily to certain people :P Oh, it's nice to see you on fridae as well.
That's all the interesting stuff that happened so far. Hope it has entertained whoever is reading.
Lurbs yew long time,
Jo
