Oh shiiiiii! How long has it been?

Hello everyone,

HUAT ARH! Happy Chinese New Year! I do apologise for the long hiatus but I just remembered my blog and thought I'd do a little update. Little might be an understatement as most of you remember from my previous posts that little usually means an essay-length post.

So starting from the most recent events, I went to Singapore. Yay! It was a really wonderful trip. Lots of hot guys in Singapore! OH-EM-GEEEEEE!! Shoot me dead, they were all over the place! And there was a wonderful mix of hot Asians guys and sexy Caucasian expats! Yummmmy!

Anywhos, back to the trip. I went to Singapore to help my parents with the packing as we're selling off our apartment. It was quite nostalgic but I never remembered the place being so... filthy... It was seriously gross. the YMCA had better rooms! We cleaned it up and made it at least "liveable" (just for comparison, my SCDF camp in Jalan Bahar was a lot cleaner!) I've been going around

Orchard almost every night. I went to Ion and damn, I LOVE THAT PLACE!!! My favourite place in Ion will have to be TWG Tea Salon. The selection of teas were just astonishing and the scones were just AMAZING!!! Shoot-me-dead-and-revive-me-so-I-can-eat-those-scones-again amazing! That's how good they were. I really felt happy just sitting there eating them. The tea jelly that was served with the cream was what made it extraordinary but it was already really wonderful already. The manager at TWG was this really cute guy with the sexiest French accent ever. I like those accents, makes me melt and he had the nicest sit-upons (if you don't know what that means, Google it. It's a Victorian term.) I went to TWG about 5 times through my stay I think. Once when it was just about to close, 2nd time with another friend and that's when I tried the scones, 3rd, 4th and 5th time was with Tommy, the 5th being the morning on the day I was leaving Singapore back to Sydney. I bought 2 canisters of tea and a bottle of tea jelly. I was so happy that I managed to clear it through customs. I bought Silver Moon and Sweet France. I picked Silver Moon but Sweet France and the canisters were based on the cute manager's recommendation. I'm drinking a cup of Sweet France tea now and I can't help but think of him. Ah he's just too hot. I should have taken pics damnit! Missing Singapore already! Well, maybe just missing him already :p

I got to meet James in Singapore. Didn’t meet Sukebe because he ran away to Malaysia. Oh well, according to James, Sukebe has slimmed down a lot but should still stay away from those skinny jeans. Congratulations Sukebe-chan if you’re reading this! But from the description James provided me, yea, I do agree, stay far away from those skinny jeans! Lol.

Oh, my hair style has changed already. I'll put some pictures of when it was longer and then after I got my haircut because my mother was nagging me about how long it was. I basically chopped off the back, save for a lock of hair which I braid into what my friend told me is called a dragon's tail. Lol, very asian term. Well, at least it's not anything sad like a tortoise tail. Oh in Singapore, I was asked if I would consider being a model for this agency. I was really caught by surprise as I didn't really feel I was of model-standards. It was flattering though. They gave me a call and asked if I could come in for an interview but I told them that I wasn't living in Singapore anymore so that was the most flattering moment for me the entire trip.

The trip back to Sydney wasn't too bad. I sat next to this somewhat cute (ranging between the ok to cute category) Norwegian guy who was flying to Brisbane to do his masters. We didn't chat at first but then I started talking to him and he was really friendly. I forgot what I said first to break the ice, but it was probably something about Singapore. He was really nice and had a really cute "hmmm"? I thought that was the most adorable "hmmm" I've ever heard. I didn’t get to sleep at all during the flight, nothing suss went on alright so don’t get too excited. Although, his leg was pressed against mine while he was sleeping. Lol, damn those small airplane chairs for making physical contact so much more excusable! ; ) I watched Fame (2009) on the airplane and it was an ok movie but the music was good and Asher Book was quite cute :D

Well, so I’m back in Sydney. I have to go back to Uni next week since I’ve got to be around during orientation week for my club. Oh, I forgot to mention that I became the secretary for the club. :)

Here It Comes Again...

Hi hi,

The holidays are coming to an end. Uni will soon be starting again. What a total bitch... At least I managed to catch up on my sleep deficit but my sleep cycle has been totally fked up as a result of my holiday activities. I sleep when the sun is about to rise and get up when the sun is about to set.

I got my results back a while ago and it hasn't been too bad, except for physiology 1A. I got 2 high distinctions for biochemistry and safety, health & environmental hazards (for toxicology major) and a distinction for maths (yay! I'll never have to take another maths class for the rest of my uni life wooha!) and just a pass for physio - 62/100. What a shitty mark, kinda brought down my average for this semester but this sem has been good in general, it brought up my average so far to a distinction.

Next semester's classes involve... introductory pharmacology & toxicology, physiology 1B (nuuuuu T_T ), molecular biology, and Chinese for beginners! Hopefully studying renal functions, endocrine, gastrointestinal systems and reproductive systems (i think i'm pretty good at this section) will be a lot better than excitable cells in physio 1A.

Time to get a haircut before uni starts. I have these few hairstyles in mind.

I really like the first one but we'll see if the stylist can pull that one off on me. Yay for asian hairstyles!

Exams are finally over, tra~la~la~

Hey y'all ,

Exams are finally over! Woohoo! Time to bring out the Moet & Chandon with lots of shopping and gaming! My sleep cycle is officially fked up! I sleep at 5 am and wake up in time for a late lunch! (usually around 2:30pm) I think soon enough, I'll be sleeping when the sun rises and waking when the sun sets. I guess that's the best way to avoid the sun?

Since I've got nothing much to add, allow me to introduce the new fragrance from Yves Saint Laurent's L'Homme Series, La Nuit De L'Homme


While this fragrances has similar notes with it's predecessor, L'Homme, which is one of the best "sweet" scents from the bittersweet tonka beans, La Nuit has been getting mixed responses. The top notes of coumarin are very similar to L'Homme but as the middle and base notes starts to appear, the cedarwoods blend with the cardamom creating a woody tone. This fragrance is quite subtle which is why I like it. "Bright, masculine freshness combines with sophistication and nonchalance for a deep, mysterious and sensual fragrance." Overall, a good scent for a night out in town.


An upcoming scent that I can't wait to get a whiff of is Calvin Klein's CK Free. Created by Givaudan with top notes of thai star anise, jackfruit, juniper berry and absinthe, middle notes of suede, tobacco leaves, coffee and South African buchu the scent dries down to a base of patchouli, oakwood, Texan cedarwood and Costa Rican ironwood. This should be an interesting woody combination. And for all those perving on the model and want to know who he is, it's Jamie Dornan.

I'm thinking of getting Hugo Element but that might just be a spur of the moment thing. If I ever do get it, it'd probably have to be in the smallest size possible since I'm always changing my scent. (Except for my signature scent YSL L'Homme. I will always love that fragrance!) I think the main reason for getting it is because the bottle looks too cute! The last noteworthy scent from Hugo Boss is probably XY in my opinion. Everything after that hasn't done the fragrance house any justice. Oh well, if I'm desperate enough, I'll get it. I still haven't finished using the XY that I bought 2 years ago... I think I'll use it today!

Moonlight

I really would have taken a picture but my wonderful camera phone has been locked...

At the bus stop outside my house, on the top of the hill, the night sky brought about an unusual feeling of serenity. Iridescent diamonds speckled the velvet expanse while a continual contest of light and shadow was played out on the clouds. I was embraced by the warm illumination from the full moon as the cool sea breeze caressed the contours of my body. The smell of the sea, under the moonlight made me feel... different.

Today has been quite good for me. Despite the serious sleep deficiency from cramming for the Biochemistry exam today, I managed to get up and prepare for Uni without too much difficulty. My motor skills were slightly... delayed at the start but it resumed functioning normally after a while. First lesson for the day was a maths lecture for 2 hours. It ended 10 minutes early so I seized the opportunity to go to the library to study. The 3rd floor of the library had just been renovated. It looks really good now. I would have camwhored a bit but I didn't have the time or the equipment. I studied for the next 2 hours, doing last minute cramming before heading for the exam venue at the Biomedical theatres. The exam went pretty well. I completed the exam within 20 minutes. There were a lot of details in the lecture notes but the exam questions were really easy. There were 12 MCQs, 6 short answers and 1 essay. The essay asked for a discussion of chemiosmosis theory and how it relates to the coupling of ATP synthesis and oxidative phosphorylation. After the exam, I had a physiology tutorial. Some of us decided to ditch our designated tutorial group and join our other friend's. When we got there, I saw this pretty hot guy. (He's a student, does physiology and biochemistry with me. Very good looking but rumoured to be as obtuse as he is good looking. Caucasian, tall, good body, good facial features.) Anyways, the tutor for this tutorial was this daggy old lady. 2 minutes into the lecture, my friend and I decided to leave and go to our old tutorial group. We made it back in time. We had a new tutor as well. She was a doctor that assisted us in some of our physio labs. Quite young, pretty, slim, with skin as clear as Miranda Otto. Today's tutorial was on the cardiovascular system. I didn't revise any of the lectures before the tutorial but I did manage to get some of the questions correct.

I popped off to the city after tutorial to meet up with my sister. She had gone to get her nails done and when I got there, we just walked around for a bit. We went to Myers to test out their perfume. I like the new Guerlain Homme but I decided not to buy it yet as it would have been on impulse if I did anyways. The top note was a gentle fusion of lime and mint, creating a slightly herbaceous opening. After a few moments, the middle notes surfaced, revealing bergamot, green tea & pelargonium. The middle notes were really refreshing and not stinging. The scent progressed to mellow down with cedar and vetiver while retaining the cool mint through the entire duration which blended well to create a soft, sweet, cool note. Guerlain Homme is a clean fragrance, well balanced and sophisticated. It's classy and modern. The more I think about it, the more tempted I am to get it.
On the note of perfumes, I was complimented on my signature scent, YSL L'Homme today. It's neither overpoweringly musky nor sickeningly cloying but a perfect balance, like yin and yang (possibly androgynous?).

It has been a pretty good day overall but I will endeavour to get some work done this weekend!

Hiiiiiiiiii,

I just got home from going out to Westfield Bondi Junction. Was out for some retail therapy but I behaved and didn't buy anything... much... Had some champagne, but it wasn't really champagne, more like sparkling white wine. I think it was Sauvignon Blanc... Overall quite light to the palate, slightly sour, overall verdict, glorified soda water with table wine.

Today's biochemistry lab invovled diluting urine samples and checking the levels of Urea, Creatinine and Uric Acid and hence determining the possible diets and problems the patient might have. I was quite content with my results as it was very close to the actual results. We got to use cyanide today. After that lab I had a slight headache from the hydrogen cyanide fumes even though it was done in the fumehoods. Smelled like bitter almonds.

Ugh, I have to start studying for my biochemistry exam on friday and get that blasted Maple program online test crap done... What a shitty week... Luckily I have a small vial of cyanide to bail me out if the need arises! (Bet some of you would want me to drink it wouldn't you, evil bastards! Too bad, I didn't get to take any. It would probably be too diluted to do any major damage anyways. Although, the LDLo for humans is only 2.847mg/kg... Mmmmm...)

Why is it week 8 already!?!?!

Time never flew this fast last semester! Ultimate gheyness ftw!
I think I failed Physiology... The mid-semester exams were just depressing. But the labs have been pretty fun in the recent weeks. In week 7 it was cutting up a sheeps heart and using palpation and auscultation method to determine diastolic and systolic pressures of the heart. In week 6 I got to cut open an anaesthetised toad. I named her Sally (it probably was a male toad since there weren't any eggs but I was in a Sally-dissecting mood). First thing I took out of Sally's tiny incision were his lungs. They look really nice under the microscope. One could see blood flowing through maze of capillaries shimmering from the light of the Nikon microscope. We were supposed to be "ethical" when handling Sally so we weren't allowed to take pictures. I had to stick Sally's lungs back through the small hole and then locate and pull out his bladder. It was pretty full, good thing I didn't pop it otherwise I'd have toad pee all over. It was surprising resilient to my enthusiastic handling. I'm usually a lot more delicate but I was having a ball of a time with Sally since no one else on my bench dared to cut open a living toad. (I was probably having way too much fun than a "normal" person would!) The transparent sac of the bladder had sprial vessels but Sally's was so full they were stretched out so they didn't look as pretty under the microscope. After viewing it and making sure he was still moist with the anaesthetic, i had to tuck Sally's bladder back in but much to my dismay, Sally's bladder seemed to have developed a liking for the outside world and would ever so often pop back out when I was fiddling around looking for the mesentry in the small intestine. The blood vessels were pretty big and we managed to see some leucocytes rolling around in the blood vessels. Sally was a wonderful toad that didn't smell at all, unlike Bob that had an odour pungent enough to penetrate my Bvlgari Aqua Marine barrier! The prac was coming close to the end. We had to notice was the effects of adrenaline application and haemorrhage via severing the femoral artery. I must say, Sally wasn't very good at bleeding at all! But we did get to notice the haemodilution. The last thing we had to do before the end of the practical was to sever Sally's heart. No one else at my bench really wanted to do it but I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to remove Sally's still beating heart from his body. I didn't do a very good job though, I cut too low, severing the aorta instead so blood just squirted on the bench. Good thing it didn't get into anyone's eye though! It was still beating even after it was removed. I held Sally's tiny heart in my hand. It was such an interesting feeling. That practical was probably the best practical so far!

Well, week 8 is about to start, the weather is getting colder so I get to dress up a bit more :D I'll put up some recent pictures in a while if I can remember to get it done! (Added below!)

It's been a while, hasn't it?

Sorry for the long intervals between my posts. I have indeed grown lazy in blogging even though it's been set as one of my homepages. Well, I shall endeavour to fill in the gaps for you even though everything seems so hazy now.

Let's start with the most recent week...
Week 5
This week has been pretty hectic since it's just before the Easter/Mid-Semester Break. I've had 3 assessments this week. First up for Tuesday was an online quiz for Physiology. That quiz was really hard. I met up with my other friends at the student lounge (I will try to take pictures of it for you guys one day) to tackle the 10 questions. There is a time limit of 20 minutes. When I got there from my previous class, one of my friends had boldly initiated her quiz. She had given up and requested for my assistance. I did my best to help her with the ones she didn't know as time was running out and we managed to get her a 65%. She was pretty satisfied that she passed in the end and appreciative of my help. I was more grateful to her as it had given me the chance to assess the difficulty of the questions before I attempted it. There were 3 other "martyrs" that didn't care either ways and asked me for my help to get their quiz done for them. I seized the opportunity to ascertain the correct answers through a series of deliberations and eliminations. By the time it came to mine and my other friend's turn, we managed to get 90%. From that I managed to get all the answers. Me being the lovely, charitable person that I am, gave the answers to my other friends. Indeed, they got full marks for it. I was happy to help. (Would have been happier if they were hot guys :p)

I had my first maths assessment after that. It went on for 45 minutes. 8 minutes before the assessment ended, the evacuation alarm rang! The same thing happened last evening (Monday) during the final segments of my BioChemistry lecture, which Mr. H didn't attend anyways... So we filed out in the most disorderly array imaginable. It was rather exciting. During the assessment, Mr. H was calling me to find out where I was as we were to have a study session for BioChem after my exam. Anyways, the assessment didn't go too badly. I didn't know how to do 2 questions. I scored 25/30. Good thing is that because of the interruption during the exam, everyone will be awarded an extra 3 marks so that makes it 28/30. I was slightly disappointed that I was 2 marks shy from full marks. Oh well, I will strive for better marks next time.
Mr.H ditched me on Tuesday to study at home. That was because I didn't reply to his message which he sent at like 7:00 am. God, as if I'd be awake at such an hour! Anyways, it had been postponed to Wednesday. I had written up some notes already and he stole them from me... Mr. H is quite a bully. But everyone agrees he has the most charming smile ever! Oh well, I'm not at any disadvantage. In fact, by having him depend on me, it has become some form of motivation to make sure I'm on top of things. We studied for about one and a half hours before going home. I met Bee Bee on the way down the campus walk and caught a lift back home from my eldest sister. That was way better than catching the bus any day. I spent most of the day studying for the BioChemistry mid-semester exam tomorrow.

On Thursday, I met up with Mr. H in the hour break I had before the exam to study. I reminded him of certain things like the cofactors of the tricarboxylic acid cycle and protein structure. Indeed, that appeared in the exam. I was somewhat disappointed that he forgot one of the cofactors. It was a really easy question in the exam. Oh well, he seemed pretty confident that he'd pass anyways.

That night, my sisters and I went to the theatres to watch "The Boat That Rocked". It was a really good movie. We bought Southern Comfort and Midori from the Liqueur Store. I made a cocktail with the Midori and we had bourbon coke as well.

On Friday, we went to church for the Good Friday service and again on Sunday for the Easter Sunday service. All in all, it's been pretty good. I just hope I can stay focused and get my work done this week instead of slacking off too much.

Week 4
This week went along as per normal, nothing too spectacular happened except for a major disaster on my part during the BioChemistry lab. I wasn't feeling "normal" that day. I just felt so out of sync with everything. My breathing was heavier than usual, I had palpitations, my hands were quivering more than usual. My screwed up my lab so much today. I screwed up the first time by adding the wrong amounts from the micro pipettes. Instead of adding 50 micro litres, I added 500. I felt like an idiot but it was a good thing that was reasonably early in the procedures. Starting over, I made sure I had calibrated the instrument properly but I seemed to have "spaced out" and started to add the wrong reagents. I was feeling really frustrated. I have never made such a huge blunder in my entire academia. To make so many mistakes in a row was just infuriating and it wasn't as if I hadn't read the instructions before the lab. I had done all my pre-lab readings and I knew what was going on, I just ... can't explain myself. But I felt so low that I had to leave the lab to regain my composure. I was really thankful to have wonderful friends in the lab who sat behind me as they saw me struggling and helped me to set up my experiment for the third time as I went out to drink water. The experiment shouldn't have taken very long but due to my negligence, the entire lab had to wait for me to get my results before they could continue to the next part. I felt so embarrassed. Mr. H was totally unfazed he didn't do much this lab, like every other lab. He was pretty much clueless as to what to do but he did try to cheer me up though. He was kind enough to make sure I didn't faint. I ended a bit late as I had to clean up. Mr. H bailed out on me and disappeared.
I don't mean to offend anyone out there but from my deductions, generally, the good-looking guys are usually the not-so-intelligent ones. Well, that was the "big" thing that happened in Week 4.

I don't really remember what happened in Week 3 anymore but it should have been as per normal. Back to today, I've recently got my hands on Left 4 dead. It's a pretty fun game. Going on a rampage, making the undead eat lead, getting raped by overempowered uber zombies. Ah, good times. I've also found some very nice artwork by this lady that goes by the alias Heise (黑色). She has pretty provocative themes. Hope you like these.

Second Week is over, here comes the Third!

Hi y'all,

How is everyone doing? Hopefully a lot better than I am! So the 2nd week of Uni is over... I can safely conclude that Maths and Physiology makes me suicidal. After the lecture on Friday, I felt like paper-cutting my wrist a few times and soaking it in a cocktail of salt, lemon juice and alcohol... Those lecturers were really [insert word here] ... I can't think of a proper word that encapsulates their innate ability to drown students in boredom and bewilderment.

Moving on, I've set out to make friends with the cute guy from my biochemistry class and I'm proud to announce that contact has been made, and rapport establishment is well underway. I introduce to you, Mr. H. He's 20 this year, tall, Caucasian with one of the most seductive smiles and a playful glint in his eyes. His preference of alcohol is mainly Vodka. Downside is he's rather impatient or lazy, or both. I've deduced this from our first biochemistry lab together. He's my lab partner. The silly yet good looking boy was too impatient to plot points for his graph so he ended up just drawing a straight line and handing it in. Obviously this didn't work, he came back to the table with that mischievous grin of his and just "x"-ed a few points on the graph with 1 or 2 near the graph. I think the lab demonstrator gave in and just let him go. Ahaha, can't believe he pulled it off. Well, on Friday, we met up in the library and I helped him with that lab report. He reminds me a lot of someone I used to like as well. Same character, same physique, just that H. is slightly bit more better looking. I will try to analyse him more but that is all I have to report for now.

I need to get ready to catch the bus to Uni... I have a 2 hour maths lecture first then a 2 hour break and a 1 hr biochemistry lecture to end the day. Oh well, the only consolation is that H. will be there, at least I think he will.

The First Week Back

Hi ya'll

Apologies for such a long intermission, but then again, it's not as if you guys are dying to find out what's going on in my life anyways.

So university has started all over again. I'm now in my 1st year, 2nd Semester but I'm mostly doing my 2nd year subjects. The subjects for this term are: Biochemistry 2181, Physiology 1A, Safety, Health and Environmental Hazards (toxicology module), and Math 1031 (for life science because I'm too stupid to do the harder one :p)

The university is once again filled with tons of people. From up the walkway, all you can see is a sea of heads (mostly black - asian hair). I shall attempt to take a picture of it one of these days.

Classes have been about the same, I have 6 hours of labs on Wednesday.Everything seems like such a bore. I've lost almost all motivation. With that said, there is a hot guy in my class now. He was in my math tutorial last semester. This semester he's in my Physiology and Biochem lectures. He seems rather lonely. He sits by himself. I think I will try to make friends with him. Just for the record, he's just good eye-candy.

I've been trying to go to bed early nowadays otherwise I'll look like crap in the morning so it's to bed by 0100 hours. Sigh, uni life seems quite tiring. 22 hours of lesson per week, 24 units of credit. That's an estimate of 6 - 10 hours per UoC. Oh well, it's not like I do 6 hours per UoC anyways.

Why didn't I have a book like this when I was a kid?

Hi ya'll. Sorry for not blogging for so long. I don't really have much to blog about but I've got ltos of pictures, well, kinda. Anyways, objective of this blog is to let you know I'm still alive and kicking, maybe not as furiously as I should but it'd be pretty inelegant for me to be caught kicking at all. Anywho...

This was a picture I took down the microscope from my last lab in Biology. I think it's the red blood cells undergoing mitosis. Around the 50 mark you can see the cell getting stretched. That's cytokinesis occuring.

The zoo was pretty fun. There was a fund-raising marathon at the Zoo that particular day. Quite a number of hot guys running the marathon. When they started running, we were at the Orang-Utan area. Some runners stopped to take pictures of the Orang-Utans. I was busy checking out the hot guys to bother too much about the monkeys. Only thing that worried me as if they were going to bombard me with crap from the trees.

Miga and Le Lapin. They're on my bed. I've never owned plushies before so these 2 are my first. And at the age of 21 (I know I'll be 22 this year but it's not for another 10 months so bugger off thanks!). Hurray for 2nd childhood!

Hmmm, that's about all. Oh, I almost forgot. This sunday I'll be going to the Victoria Bushfire Benefit Concert at the Sir John Clansey Auditorium at the University of New South Wales featuring performances by the Australia Ensemble @UNSW, The Song Company with William Barton, Sydney Brass, TaikOz, Taryn Fiebig, Diana Doherty, Kathryn Selby and more. I'll be going with Marvin. Should be fun if he mellows out a bit. Marvin is a wonderful guy but he's a bit too boisterous. I feel intimidated by him some times. But generally, he's nice. Marvin, behave yourself! =p

Le Escapades de Singapura

Sorry for the long absence. I've been out alot. I'll try to summarise things since there'd be alot of bitch about if i didn't. Continuing with the second day of the Kuching trip, it was raining alot. We went to visit the last one remaining from my grandparent's generation, my grand aunt. She's quite hilarious and in rather excellent condition given her age. We spent quite a while there. Spent a long time searching all over Kuching for this traditional delicacy called Kueh Jalah (I think that's how it spelt. That's how it sounds like anyways). Went to a relatively new shopping complex called Spring for dinner. The size wasn't too bad. Went back to my cousin's house and played with their 7 dogs while my niece had to get ready to go to bed for school tomorrow. My aunt brought us back home to rest.
The following day we were scheduled to leave back to Singapore at 16 25 hours. We had lunch with my grandaunt at this restaurant called Heritage. It was pretty good. Alot of food. I bought myself diamonds at DFS. Got back to Singapore around 17 30 hrs. The flight was pretty fast. Took a taxi to my uncle's place at Bukit Timah. Their house is reaaalllly big! Had dinner at their place and caught up with my younger cousins. Went to bed early, had to go to church the next day.
The church hall was renovated and was larger since the last time I was there. My dad had informed the pastor that we'd be in Singapore and going to church so there was no way my sister and I could have skipped church. We left after the service and went to Orchard. Met up with my cousin who's the same age as me. Had tea at Royal Copenhagen. It's my favourite tea place in Singapore. Had Earl Grey Tea with blueberry cheesecake and scones. It was really good. Caught "Bride Wars" before meeting up with my older sister for dinner at Great World City. We went to Crystal Jade for dinner. Picked up some stuff from her place and went back home.
On Monday, we went to town, withdrew our daily allowance of S$200 and went shopping around. In the afternoon, went back to my NS camp with 2 of my camp mates to visit some of our officers. The new guys cold slack off so much, we were rather envious! In the evening, my sister went to meet her friend, and I had dinner with Sukebe, Yang, and Sukebe's friend Gerald. (Sukebe said he was hot. I trusted him. I was disappointed.) We had dinner at Din Tai Fung. Sukebe paid for me because he made me wait for him. :p After dinner, Gerald left and we had dessert at Swensens with James. I left early because my little sister was waiting for me outside to catch a taxi back home.
The next few days have been pretty much the same, out to the city, withdraw our allowance from our bank accounts, shop till our feet hurt, have dinner, come back home, sleep. Today (11th Feb) was slightly different. I went to Vivo City, this massive shopping mall. I spent about... $140 on clothes today. It was fun. Had dinner with one of my friends, Alvin who works as a marketing executive for Vivo City. On the way to Orchard road in the evening, I saw the hottest guy EVER! I kid you not, I have not seen anyone else who could "dethrone" him, no one in our blogosphere could be a potential rival. It's as if he's in a totally different league. He was... WOW!! Tall (tallest guy in the train), flawless skin, VERY HOT BODY, well dressed, well groomed, everything just made him so much hotter. My eyes were fixated on him. I was a distance away so it wasn't that obvious. Which my heart was racing and body starting to quiver, there was an obnoxious lady that blocked my view with her head. I had a sudden urge to cut off her head for blocking my view of the Adonis. I was depressed to leave but it was my stop. Went to Zara and put some stuff on reservation. Reserved a long sleeved V neck t-shirt, a scarf and a hoodie with fur lining. Nothing like wearing a fake dead animal for winter. Had dinner with some friends and went walking around till it was around 2200 before going back home.
So nothing much too interesting has happened except for Adonis. He was ... WOW!! That's all I can say. A true Adonis.

It has been a pretty long day. I got to Singapore on Sunday evening. Warm and humid, not my favourite combination! We had to transit in Darwin. That place is a serious crap hole! The only thing separating the international from domestic is a pathetic glass wall. The didn't have anything good in there at all. Well, their DFS did have Moet & Chandon and Dom Perrignon so I'll give them some credit for carrying it. But other than that, it was pretty sad. Once we landed in Singapore, we headed to the hotel. It was a really small room. But it was acceptable for the price we were paying for it. I would say it's relatively cheap.

The first "official" day we went there began with going to the Australian High Commission to get Bee Bee's expired visa sorted out. Had to pay $246 just for a stupid sticker in the passport. After that it was off to the bank! UOB bank was some ways off so we took the bus. We had our "fun savers" account still in tact there but that was eons ago! We couldn't close the account without our mum's signature but we managed to get a new pass book for the account. Our verification method was still recorded as our thumb print. We attempted to change that into our signature and withdrew $200 while we were at it. It was quite a long wait. I went to deposit some money into my other bank account and then we went shopping! I bought my Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme perfume. It is my signature scent.

Well, I've already got the limited edition barometer-dildo looking one so I got the other one with the metal cap instead. Bought Mushroom Swiss burgers from Burger King and went back to our room for lunch. It was heavenly! Haven't had mushroom swiss for ages! We rest for a bit and went to the Heeren for dinner with Kenji and Terren my army mates. The restaurant we wanted to go to, Lemongrass had closed that branch. We were so disappointed. I really missed that place! We went to Paragon to eat Din Tai Fung instead. After dinner we hung around Orchard. Terren sent us back to the hotel.

The next day we went to Bugis to meet up with James and Rachel. He blogged about it with pictures so I wouldn't go into too much details. He's a really nice guy :D I'm glad we got to meet without Sukebe. After that I had to go back to the hotel to freshen up and drop off our stuff. I went back to town to get the cake for Grandpa with some stuff we'd leave with my sister who was also staying there as we'd be leaving for Kuching in Malaysia on the 4th. I went to see a few salespeople I've made friends with while I was staying near Great World City while waiting to meet up with Lydia as she was coming back from work. I went to Kokoro and bought a box of Yubari Melon Chocolates for one of my relatives. Those chocolates are absolutely exquisite. They're not too sweet and have to soft aftertaste of melon. I've loved those chocolates since the first day I've tasted them. I also went to "That CD Shop". They were having a limited edition release of house music from their own house label called "High Society". It's music that's exclusively to the franchise. Their music director/compiler is Herri Something. I forgot his last name but I really like all the High Society cds he's released. I reserved one of the limited edition sets. It came in the most elegant box which a gold lock and key. That cost about $100 but I had a membership discount card which got me 5% off. I didn't buy it there and then because my sister would have a fit from me spending $100 on cds. We visited the grandparents. It didn't turn out as nasty as I thought it'd would. We had dinner together and Bee Bee and I headed back for the hotel after that.

We got up early to go to the bank again as we'd heading off to Kuching today. I've been withdrawing $200 per day from the UOB bank. So sad, I'm getting poor. We went to lucky plaza to look at cameras. Bee Bee bought a pretty good camera. I didn't buy anything today. We went to Daisou and I bought 2 japanese folding fans. I can do a proper geisha dance now :p We went back to our hotel to repack our stuff before heading to the airport. Oh, during breakfast at McDonalds, there was this pretty hot chinese guy in a long sleeve shirt and a bow tie with a LV bag (I could tell). We caught the plane to Kuching. It was a pretty short flight 1 Hr 20 mins. Wasn't too bad. We were stuck at the airport for a bit because we had calling difficulties contacting our relatives to pick us up. I called Alex but he still didn't come rescue me. What a mole! Anyways, I made it in piece and we went out for dinner and I just got back.

How did it get to this...

Happy Chinese New Year!

Today has been absolutely devastating... It feels as if the fires of hell itself erupted from a scorching cravace and engulfed us all in what seemed to be an eternal conflagration. I managed to seek refuge from this blazing inferno in the wonderfully sanctuary of the law library with it's central air conditioning! It was absolute bliss! While it was a searing 41 degrees outside, I was nice and cosy in the meticulously regulated 24 degrees study area. I was working on the past paper from 2005. It was meant to be 3 hrs long but I took a long time to actually get it done. I worked till Question 6 and went for lunch with Klement who came to study with me. He lived on campus anyways, so it was pretty convenient for him.

We left for lunch at about 12 30 hrs. It was so freaking hot. We dropped off our stuff at his dorm and walked down Kingsford in the blistering heat, deliberating on what to eat. We ended up having Vietnamese for lunch. Both of us ordered the Pho Tai Nam (I think that's what it's called. The raw beef rice noodle soup). The proprietor was kind enough to explain how to "eat" the noodles, at least, she would be kind if she didn't appear so patronizing... Well, she had a problem with the air conditioner because it wasn't cold at all. We finally figured out that she had the silly thing on "heater" mode. We rectified it for her and got on with lunch. We made a quick stop to get bubble tea from Easy Way and made our way back to Uni.

We stopped by his dorm to pick up our stuff before heading back to the library. As I was coming back, I thought I saw someone familiar. I wasn't sure if I knew him or not but I checked my phone to see if he had tried calling me but I didn't receive any calls or texts so I just continued walking up the stairs to the library. I tried to study but I had quite a number of toilet breaks. I felt like I was pregnant, having to shuttle to and fro. I kept working on the paper till about 1650 when the library was closing. I was so depressed from the crap-shack of an attempt at the chemistry paper and I dreaded having to leave the comfort of the air condioner. They wouldn't be open till Tuesday. Sigh... My bag was really heavy with my laptop and chemistry folder. I had to wait for about 40 minutes in the heat wave till the bus came. By the time I had alighted near my house, the sweltering heat had started to dissipate. I was starting to feel a bit better but still depressed from the past paper... I don't know if I'll be prepared by Thursday for both Biology and Chemistry... Sigh... I'm so screwed... Oh and Happy Chinese New Year to everyone in advance!

Tired Again

Hello again,

It has been a relatively tiring day. I spent a ridculously long time going through a peer-reviewed review article for my essay. "HMGB1 Mediates Endogenous TLR2 Activation and Brain Tumour Regression" from the Public Library of Science. 3 letters pretty much sums up the whole article. W.T.F.

My little mice are happy to see you. They've been injected with Brain Tumours, yay! Ever article I read bored me to tears. But I managed to somewhat complete the essay with just 1 referral to a cited article regarding "Combined Immunostimulation and Conditional Cytotoxic Gene Therapy Provide Long-term Survival in a Large Glioma Model" Yes, these were also injected into the happy little green mice. There was another chart on happy little red chimeric mice too!

The lectures today weren't that bad. It was really about genetic variations and stuff like that. The second lecture was pretty simple as it was more about hereditary traits and a revision of Meiosis I and II. I got my first essay back, I got 6/6! yay! Some of the other people didn't do as well though but it was a good thing no one failed. I confirmed my schedule regarding the Biology exam. I'll have to sit for it after the 3 hr biology lab next Thursday. There is also a revision test before the lab. I'm having a heart attack from the overwhelming joy... So in summary, 1 biology test, 1 biology exam on Thursday, and my Chemistry exam on Friday (most probably). Pardon me dearies if i start becoming incomprehensive and emo in the next week or so.

(Foreword: The following paragraph might be fairly incomprehensible as it'll just be mindless bitching about the trouble trying to get a form signed between two different faculties)

After lectures today, I had to run around lower campus to get the clash of timetable form signed by the respective course authorities. Thankfully, the lecturer in-charge of Biochemistry was one of my lecturers for the Biology course I'm taking now. She's such a nice lady. I'm glad that she'll be teaching me again next semester. The other course is Calculus for Life Science. That one was the one that caused me the most trouble. Had to get to the 3rd floor of the crappy maths building, find the old lady to look at my form, fill in another form (which I didn't have to do for Biochem), only to find out that I'm supposed to have enrolled in Biochem first, so I had to rush down to the Math Computer Labs to get myself enrolled since her lunch break is in 15 mins. I thought that'd be the end of my worries once I got down to the math labs, to my dismay, my user id and password wasn't accepted... I had to rush to the next nearest available computer, I quickly made my way to the law library when I realised that I could have used the computer at the Science Student office just opposite the maths building. I backtracked and got myself officially enrolled online into Biochem at the SSO and got back to the maths building with 5 mins to spare. When I got to the old lady's office, I found myself staring at a locked office. I was like "WTH, she said lunch was at 1 pm, why did she leave at 12:55?!?" Disappointed, I headed out to the reception and I found her hiding behind the computer monitor, trying to figure out a problem for her colleagues. I thought, "Phew! She's still here." After waiting for another 5 minutes, she gave up and we went back to her office to get my enrolment done. I was sadly mistaken, thinking that it was the end. She needed me to print out my timetable to find out the tutorial and lab timings... I was thinking to myself "omg... why didn't you tell me earlier!?!?!" There wasn't enough time for me to get it done as she was going for lunch so I just gave up and told her I'd be back tomorrow during the short breaks I've got in between Chemistry lectures. I felt so fatigued having to shuttle back and forth between buildings and offices in blistering 31 degree Australian heat... I went to Law Library to chill for a bit while I was waiting for papi to reach Kingsford. We were going to the club to have steak for lunch again. There were a few hot guys walking around today. I'm quite satisfied that I managed to turn their heads as I sauntered past with my usual genteel smile and demure facade. Under all that, I was actually swearing in my head from the insufferable heat.
Lunch was good as always, Papi and I discussed where I was going to stay in Singapore as Grandpa has become somewhat of an unhappy grouch. I was thinking of staying with my uncle at Bukit Timah which is as inaccessible as it is posh. His mansion is pretty nice! Papi started talking about "the best thing to do" vs "the right thing to do". Basically, he wants me to stay with grumpy grandpa even though there's a chance things could turn very ugly... I will really be needing all my skills in maintaining a porcelain smile while masking my emotions as I get verbally abused... It hurts alot more that he's my grandfather but it'll be a test of the extent of my ability.

Alright, enough of bitching about things which are still some ways off... It's hot, I'm tired, I'm getting naked, I'm taking a nap.

OMG, what happened to my hair?!?!

I basically narrowed my preferred hairstyle to these 2.

For the cute Asian guy’s hairstyle, sadly, my hair wasn’t long enough yet so I though, alright, it’s Summer now and hot as hell, I’ll save that hairstyle for Winter. It would go well with my Winter wardrobe. So hottie Chase Crawford’s hairstyle it is! I told the hairstylist that I’d like to keep my fringe and sideburns longer because it’s more versatile (for the occasional emo look with the black skinny jeans). The hairstylist just took a glance at the picture and I thought to myself, wow, he must either be very good or I’m in for a hell of a month of horrendous hair… On with the snipping, my lovely locks floated onto the tiled floor like autumn leaves. At the start, things were looking optimistic but alas, the massacre that ensued was utterly … disappointing… Not only had he given me the same hairstyle as the last 3 times I’ve been there, he had chopped off my lustrous fringe. To summarise everything, no Chase Crawford hairstyle, no fringe… When I asked which picture of the 2 pictures I had shown him earlier did this hairstyle he gave me resemble, he seemed relatively lost for words and pulled off a “it’s a bit of an in between. Guy’s hairstyle are almost the same, it’s just the method of styling.” I think that was the conversation that was going on. I was too disillusioned to remember the exact words. I will have to make do with what I’ve got for now. Hopefully by the time it grows longer, I’ll be able to mimic the Chase Crawford style. For the time being, it’s distasteful hair for me… I’ll have to use all my skills to try to create something presentable out of this mess… I don’t hate the haircut per se, it’s just not what I wanted though… :(

The date with A was cancelled. He did apologise for it and I completely understand his position. It will be highly unlikely for me to meet him again until I return from Singapore. Oh well, c’est la vie… I had a chat with Marvin last night. Avoid him at all cost! He’s so mean to me! ahahaha, just joking Marvz. He’s a pretty interesting fella. He labelled me an East Side Snob. I’m rather hurt from his defamatory dictum! Well, at least I'm not a … I think he put it was West Side Idiots… Can’t remember : )

The one in black is the first style I tried when I got home last night. The one where I’m in blue is a more toned down style I was trying today. Probably would look better if I had a longer fringe… I was using my Audio Technical Asadazakura wood ear-fit head phones in the picture. I don’t have the heart to bring that out of the house. I’d cry it someone scratched it :(

With too many choices, things get complicated. It’s such a bitch to pick really… University time table for Semester 1 2009 is really screwed up, I will really need to get that sorted out soon… As for my haircut, I’ve found a few pictures of what I think I might like to try. Tonight’s date with A might be cancelled. He has some problems with a $500,000 deal caused by one of the staff members so he has to go do some damage control. I might see him, I might not. As long as I’m still in the city and he’s available. Today is sorta my “last night of freedom” before a massive cramming session for this Summer term’s exams. I will be sitting for my exams prior to the scheduled date so yea… it’s a real bitch.

Anyways, I’m feeling really tired now. Might go get some rest before I go for my haircut.

Dilemma! To get a haircut or not! This was back when my hair was still somewhat shorter and possible to style. Now it’s … longer…

Oh and I’ve decided to do this “more about myself” post thing that most of the other bloggers have already done. Yes, I like to be fashionably late :p First, some interesting updates. I’ve got hot guys for lecturers for Biology and Chemistry! Woohoo! Looks like it’s going to be a somewhat interesting series of lectures! He used “analy retentive” and “bitch” and was complaining about the air conditioner not working in the lecture theatre and he actually took actions on that! We were near asphyxiation in the furnace of a lecture theatre this morning but he swapped the venues of the second lecture to the theatre in the Law building. That building rocks my socks! Everything is so… new! Next on the agenda, I will be going out on another date with A this Saturday. I don’t know whether it will work out or not but at the moment, my heart is still locked away. We’ll see how things go. Ok, so on to the main feature!
